The 1967 Black Oyster Pearl Ludwig Super Classic Ludwig Drum Kit, purcahsed in 2002 by Steve Heappey of The Beatalls from a seller in New Jersey, USA on ebay. Steve has also recently puchased original flat base cymbal stands to complement the kits.

This shot shows the finish of the Black Oyster Pearl, the kit was re-covered in the 60's with original Ludwig covering. The colour is slightly darker than that of the 1963 kit also owned by Steve with the white being brighter compared to the black. Ludwig altered this finish numerous times over the years.

The Ludwig clear skin as it was when the kit arrived from America. This kit now has the original skin one on from Steve Heappeys 1963 Ludwig. Also seen in the photo is the kick drums keystone badge.

This is a rare original 1961 WLF Jazz Festival Snare, recovered at the same time as the complete kit to ensure a match. The snare sounds stunning live and in the studio.....this is the one!
