The Wam Bam Rainbow Band started from a project set up by Ian Watts of The Beatalls to record a set of original songs using only friends that played an instrument - not working musicians. The project demo was called After Alice. When the project was over the musicians came together without Ian but with Wayne McAneaney and a drum machine and formed The Wam Bam Rainbow Band. The band gigged locally around Nottingham and supported local bands such as SAD. The music was upbeat and fun 80's covers. When the band split. Stuart Watts (previously of Emergency Exit) went on to join Twist & Shout (Beatles Tribute) and Wayne and George Thomas went on to form The Randees. Phil and Rob dropped out of music altogether.
